Frequently Asked Questions

Why are your candles so expensive?

Every candle here is made entirely by hand. From the beginning of the process to the end, each step is exercised with great care. There are no giant mechanical robots and no assembly lines. The materials used in the candles are carefully considered with health, veganism, quality, the American economy, aesthetics, and eco-consciousness in mind. Consequently, they tend to cost a little more than their counterpart materials of the industry.

Why does the top of my candle look strange or unsightly after burning?

Soy wax has many benefits, but it’s not without its quirks! Sometimes after being exposed to heat, soy wax will crystalize at uneven rates when cooling back down and end up creating a strange looking white film on top. On the other hand, if you’re seeing holes in the top of your candle that resemble the pattern of swiss cheese, this is because bubbles in the liquid wax got trapped when cooling.

Why isn't my candle staying lit? Why is my candle tunneling?

There are a number of things that can cause issues with the burn of your candle. Some common reasons are: not letting your candle burn to a full wax melt pool around the edges before putting it out, not keeping the wick trimmed to 1/4th of an inch, and not removing burnt remnants of wick after each burn. Occasionally, the candle’s wick may be faulty. If you’ve tried all of the solutions above and your candle still isn’t lighting, please contact me as soon as possible.
